Beside a couple of small drug-related cases, Iceland’s busiest weekend has gone ahead without any major problems. Hosting over 10,000 people, the Westman Islands lead the way with its fun-packed mixture of family entertainment and concerts. No negative reports have been announced by police authorities in regards to the Reykjavik music festival “Innipúkinn”.
Verslunarmannahelgi (Merchants’ Holiday) is Iceland’s summer bank holiday weekend, which traditionally marked the shopkeeper’s break, is still celebrated in true Viking style with camping festivals around the country – the most famous of which is in the Westman Islands. Be prepared for huge amounts of music, drinking and merrymaking!

“Harpa is probably one of the best investment EVER done in Iceland.”
The building itself is not bad, but this project was originaly a private one and not intended for the ordinary people,
for example Bjorgolfur G inteded to have a special Founder’s Lounge for himself and other investors, also VIP rooms that would have been rented out.
When Portus, the building company who started this led by Bjorgolfur gave up, the Icelandic state was stuck with this Titanic 28.000 m3 luxourious and expensive half built building, another sweet deal from the Bjorgolf.
I want to know when the fat lady starts singing,
the Special Prosecutor has been investigating a number of cases for 2 years now, if he manages to send the bankers and those who robbed the banks to prison, that would be the best investment ever made in Iceland,
I suspect patience will start wearing thin as the months go by, we have invested a considerable amount in this, and expect results.

@Axel – One thing i for sure – Harpa is probably one of the best investment EVER done in Iceland. It will take you a year or two to understand it.
I’ll raise my glass of peppermint schnapps to that Axel.
>”I am 90% certain”
Gummi – this is not adequate – your standards of proof are diminishing.
“Do come, and please visit HARPA!”
The Harpa was built for the elite in Iceland, this is where the p*gs can sniff each other and whine over the mob in the worlds biggest glass house.

The muffled groans and screams are probably just some “upper middle class”(new word for p*gs in politics) biting into each other as decent bribes are harder to come by, causing starvation amongst p*gs.
This was originaly Bjorgolfur Gudmundssons idea, like many awful mistakes in Icelandic history.
Dear Thomas,
Do come, and please visit HARPA! Thanks to generous donations from British and Dutch Icesave depositors, Iceland’s newest concert hall is open to the public!
The name HARPA refers of course to the Nordic Goddess of Unsecured Loans. Construction employed Chinese prison labor. Despite rumors to the contrary, I am 90% certain their remains are not entombed in the foundation. The widely reported ‘…muffled groans and screams’ are just the building settling into place.

I’ve always been interested in visiting Iceland.
