From the February 26th next year, passengers will be able to fly from London Stansted to Iceland’s international airport at Keflavik, near Reykjavik, 11 times a week.
Iceland Express is hoping to attract regular passengers to Iceland who usually use Heathrow, as well as new visitors, with one way tickets on sale from £69.
Iceland Express currently flies to 15 destinations across Europe and has recently added Warsaw and Barcelona to its list of destinations.
British Airways announced last week that it would discontinue its scheduled flights between London Gatwick and Reykjavik.
