Glitnir announced yesterday that it has chosen a new master data management platform from Siperian to create a unified view of customers, products and relationships across the whole of its business.
The Nordic corporate and investment bank will consolidate business applications, data warehouses and master data management into a single database which will be used for both front and back office systems.
Pall Kolka Isberg, Managing Director of Shared Services Office at Glitnir, said, “In order to maintain our position in the global markets, we need to enhance our understanding of our customer relationships and the financial products they buy. The deployment of Siperian MDM (Master Data Management) Hub will improve our employee’s ability to offer clients value added products and services.”
Following recent mergers and acquisitions in the Nordic region, Glitnir began overhauling its technology infrastructure to standardise its systems and deliver unified views of customer and product data. The new data management platform will synchronise a variety of systems including accounting, risk management and customer relationship management to create a single reference database.
As a result, Glitnir will be able to support strategic initiatives in sales, marketing, risk management and product development while giving business users access to reliable and complete views of business data.
The Glitnir group offers universal corporate and investment banking, particularly in three global niche sectors of seafood / food, sustainable energy and offshore services vessels. Glitnir considers Iceland and Norway as its two home markets and also has offices in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Luxembourg, Russia, US, Canada, China, the UK and the US.
