Finnish firm Berner Ltd has signed a contract with IT services company Fujitsu to expand its existing SAP IT system to cover production operations.
Berner, which has four production facilities in Finland, is a trading company with wide-ranging operations in import, manufacturing and marketing. The company is expanding in the Baltic area, in particular to Sweden and Estonia where its subsidiaries are located.
”Selecting a supplier was clear-cut and easy,” said Administrative Director Hannu Raiskio of Berner. “Fujitsu came forward with the most convincing expertise and project management procedure. Fujitsu also has wide-ranging expertise in other areas of IT infrastructure management, which offers us interesting prospects for developing our IT strategy in the future.”
Berner had previously used SAP based financial and payroll management systems. The company will now add procurement, inventory and quality management, product development, sales operations, production planning and product cost accounting to its IT system.
