On Thursday, a 20-year-old woman went missing from her home in western Sweden. Police now suspect that she is dead and have taken a man into custody for questioning in conjunction with the case, according to reports in The Local.
Nathalie Johansen was reported missing from Alingsas on Thursday but police believe she may already be dead.
Police have not released information about the suspect in custody and have not said if Johansen knew the man who is being questioned about her murder.
Thomas Fuxborg, a spokesperson for the police, said: “We are in the early stages of our preliminary investigation and cannot comment.”
On Thursday evening, between 19:00 and 20:00, Johansen left the house that she shared with her boyfriend, leaving behind her wallet, keys and mobile phone. Since that time, the woman, who has a reputation for being organised, has not contacted any family or friends and has not reported to work.
Morten Gunneng of the local police force looking for Nathalie said: “The more people we’ve spoken with, the more worried we’ve become. There’s no trace of her.”
The police have asked members of the public to contact them with any information they may have as to the woman’s whereabouts.
