The opposition of the Icelandic government is not happy with the outcomes of the negotiations with the IMF delegation in Reykjavik today.
Upon leaving PM Haarde’s meeting, the opposition leaders commented that they hadn’t received any documents: it had been a verbal presentation. They further commented that the numbers mentioned were staggering and the conditions the IMF proposed were incredibly strict.
The official press conference expected in a few minutes should clarify the matter. We will keep you updated.

No Depression coming to Iceland? Really?
Economists forecast its economy will contract 10 pc this year. The technical definition of a depression is an economic contraction of 10 pc or more.
There is no depression coming, not even to Iceland. Are economic times bad? Yes, absolutely, but no depression.
Well, the opposition should be a little miffed. PM Harddon let the Iceland into this crisis and he’s not leading Iceland out of it. He sat by while the oligarchs, those jackals in Range Rovers, bought up half the world on Iceland’s meager credit card. Now the banks are penniless, the Central Bank is penniless, the major businesses are penniless, the currency is worthless, and there won’t be any imports soon. The only question is, why do the Icelandic people and the ‘Opposition’ let these fools continue to run the country when those same fools ruined it. And yes, it’s ruined. The Depression is coming. Not just to Iceland.
The terribly sad thing about Iceland is that,no matter for whom you vote, the Government keeps getting in.
