Winter season prices on rental cars in Iceland were already a great deal cheaper than in the summer, and have now become even cheaper, suggesting a trip to this icy island might turn out more affordable than ever.
With tourists pouring to Iceland since the beginning of the current financial crisis, Reykjavik Rent a Car company has introduced a 15 percent price reduction for bookings of seven days or more.
The cars are equipped with all gear necessary for travelling in winter conditions, slippery roads and off-road terrain. Besides that, customers can also have extras including GPS navigation, child seats or roof boxes.
Their high performance cars include cars such as Ford, Jeep or BMW, which inspire confidence even when roaming rural Iceland; and the biggest ones can take up to seven passengers.
The company can either pick customers up at Keflavik International Airport or deliver the selected car to hotels in Reykjavik.
For more information visit the company website at www.reykjavikrentacar.is.

The GPS navigation add-on is a charm. Can’t go wrong with it. The airport pickup is a plus, though I though these car rental services would already be around the airport?

“For the beauty of Iceland, those clowns have to step down!”
Indeed. I read somehwere that in a poll 90% of Icelanders want to see Oddsson removed from his post. And in any other European nation, this public judgment would have been sufficient to force retirement. It’s a common stereotype that the people of Iceland are stubborn, but Oddsson seems to be the most extreme case. Not only a clown, but an ignorant clown. Enough already, someone drop the curtain pls, and no da capos!
People don’t want to read propaganda today…
Here is material proof of David Odsson talking outside of the Icelandic Medias:
“The British newspaper Financial Times covers the speech of David at the meeting with the Business council last week. There are quotes from David where he says that not everything has been made public and he knows what it was that made Britain make up their mind about using the terrorist legislation.
Financial Times say that this is the first time that a high set man in the economic life of Iceland suggests that it is only Icelanders to blame for that Britain used the terrorist legislation. It is pointed to that David is a close co-worker of Geir H. Haarde prime minister and the two of them have made the free-market economy in Iceland.
The British paper also says that David is quoting to secret discussions of the authorities in Iceland and Britain and if they will be made public and are as David says they are, they can undermine the plan of the government to file a lawsuit against the British for setting the terrorist legislation. “ From http://newsfrettir.com/.

Renting? Why? Can’t a tourist simply use one of the gas guzzlers standing abandoned at the parking spaces of the banks?
Only joking! Sry.
