Google is predicting Norway or Turkey to win the Eurovision Song Contest next weekend. Google opened a page that predicts the Eurovision winner this year using the iGoogle “Predictor” gadget. Based on Google search data, the tool shows how popular each Eurovision participant is and then calculates the scores they would get if the voting took place the day you go to the site.
Fifty percent of the score on Eurovision night comes from a professional jury so we can’t predict what their vote will be. Turkey has been the clear leader so far in Google’s poll, but it seems that the Norwegian contender is gaining momentum. Of the other Nordic nations, Denmark and Sweden are on the top 10 list, Finland is in 17th and Iceland in 36th.

Turkish song is great! Hadise Dum Tek Tek, very lovely and sexy ;)
Norwegian song is pretty ordinary and doesnt even have a rhythm to the lively Eurovision athmosphere, it sounds like sad song and the singer has that funny expression on his face. My 2 cents go to Turkey. Cool song and a very beautiful singer with nice performance!
Alexander E – I know. You have great folk music – no doubt. The language is also great for music – deeeeeep voices !
I heard about this project yesterday –
“Neighbourly Asymmetry: Norway and Russia 1814-2014” :

As best Israel will get to finals… sorry guys.

yes, it is a professional ballet but the dance is based on folk dance. And there is no surprise to see same element in Norway and Ukraina – as this was the famous route know in Russia as “from vikings to greeks”
And the fairy tales about far-faraway island in the middle of windy sea where fire comes out of earth, rivers look like milk and a man can get young again after jumping into hot pots – such tales are well know in Russia as well. ;-)
So I bet on Belorussian Alexander Rybak from Norway!
PS. Rybak translates as fisherman :-)
>Alexander E. Yepp – it is really great performance, no doubt. But I more look at this performance as ballet, and I enjoy really it – but I won´t don´t compare it with Halling dance/music – which is different.
Russia/USSR as others have been clever on music. Later this summer the Borodin Quartet will come here for a week and have five concerts at a chamber music festival – I look forward to it – I have heard them before – but then they was older men ;-).
Gus,
Noa and Mira recently performed on dutch tv. Watch this: a pitty they do not send this one to eurovision.

* THE SONG IS I ENGLISH, HEBREW AND ARAB…
AND FOR THOSE WHO DON´T UNDERSTAND HEBREW, HERE IS THE TRANSLATION, I HOPE YOU LIKE IT!
English Translation
There Must Be Another Way
There must be another
Must be another way
Your eyes, sister
Say all that my heart desires
So far, we’ve gone
A long way, a very difficult way, hand in hand
And the tears fall, pour in vain
A pain with no name
We wait
Only for the next day to come
There must be another way
There must be another way
Your eyes say
A day will come and all fear will disappear
In your eyes a determination
That there is a possibility
To carry on the way
As long as it may take
For there is no single address for sorrow
I call out to the plains
To the stubborn heavens
There must be another way
There must be another way
There must be another
Must be another way
We will go a long way
A very difficult way
Together to the light
Your eyes say
All fear will disappear
And when I cry, I cry for both of us
My pain has no name
And when I cry, I cry
To the merciless sky and say
There must be another way
And the tears fall, pour in vain
A pain with no name
We wait
Only for the day to come
There must be another way
There must be another way
There must be another
Must be another way
SHALOM!

I HOPE YOU ALL VOTE FOR ISRAEL!
Checked out some of the songs.
I think Norway has a good act and will have a good chance to win.
Just take a look at the clip of the ukrainian contender. The song is worthless but the clip…well… see for yourself.
The guy from belarus deserves credits for his haircut…..
I am amazed that a great singer like Patricia Kaas is participating. Great song but she will not win as she will not get many votes from eastern Europe.
Holland will not get into the final for sure.
ICELAND IN 36TH POSITION? NOT BAD FOR A SUPERIOR RACE!
Øystein;Norway:
can you please send some link to hear / see similar Norwegian folk music.
Thank you!
AE/Balkanson – it is based on traditional Norwegian folk dance/music, no doubt about that.
That Johanna dresses in Russian clothes does only mean that she has been taken good care of ;-)
This is a show – in fact perhaps the most important show we have in Europe and parts of Asia. It just tell that it is possible to do things together. So I hope that both Johanna, Alexander Rybak and all the rest manage to do absolute best thing is that also they succeed – we all ned that ;-)
Hadise..
ESC Google Forecast: http://www.google.com/intl/en/landing/eurovision/
When the communism in Eastern Europe collapsed, they introduced Schengen. When Eastern Europe started to win ESC, they introduced censorship. Iceland and Norway are both with Russian contributed songs. Go Eastern Europe!
Go go hadisem
Go Go Hadisem:)
As Norwegian contestant Alexander will harvest highest scores from Denmark, Iceland, Sweden and Finland.
As Alexander Rybak he will harvest highest scores from Russia, Ukraina, Belorussia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Armenia.
As cute boy with the show that mixes Ukranian dance and Gypsy music with English lyrics he’ll harvest high scores among others :-)
So my bet – he’ll win.
PS. Johanna has better voice but…
