Among the many investors who have been visiting the Asbru health village near Keflavik International Airport in southwest Iceland are Otto Nordhus of Nordhus Medical and representatives of Salt Investments, the company majority owned by former Actavis boss, Robert Wessman.Nordhus and Salt Investments hope to encourage a growth in medical tourism to Iceland, by performing surgical operations on Nordic visitors who are on long waiting lists in their home countries. Nordhus has already secured contracts with the Norwegian and Swedish authorities. Post and pre-operation care would be handled in the Asbru health village where there are plenty of apartments available for healthcare related developments.
Asbru health village is already home to a variety of health businesses attracting health tourism. One major success of Detox is Jonina Ben, which is a health-therapy centre specialising in Detox therapy. Detox therapy is a wellness method developed in Poland and is aimed at enabling the body to heal itself. Since it opened its doors in the Asbru health village it has been operating at full capacity.
The Keilir IAK personal trainer programme is also located at the high tech new Asbru health village and has been attracting a lot of attention. Recently nine members of the Icelandic handball national team, which claimed silver in the last Olympic Games, signed up as students in the programme.

If you are interested in vitamin D you should take a look at http://www.vitaminD3world.com The Canadian Cancer Society now recommends that everyone take vitamin D to prevent cancer. The site has good summaries of the data and offers a new preparation of vitamin D in a micro-pill formulation. The pills have been formulated with cellulose which absorbs water very quickly. This ensures that the pill breaks up very quickly to provide for maximum absorption. The micro pill is tiny and tasteless. Many vitamin D pills on the market have very poor dissolution properties resulting in poor absorption.
The site also offers to supply customers with a free supply of 400IU for their children and it also has a good newsletter.
