Around 10 pm last night, a small private airplane with foreign registrations declared an emergency. The airplane’s nose gear was not working as it should and did not come down all the way. The pilot declared emergency and headed for Reykjavik City Airport (ICAO: BIRK, IATA: RVK) located in downtown Reykjavik.
Fire trucks and ambulences were ready on the ground when the plane landed. No reports of injuries were made, and the pilot made a smooth, successful landing. The airplane is currently under maintenence and looked at by mechanics at Reykjavik Airport.
