A hospital set to offer specialised medical treatments, at the Asbru Enterprise Park in Iceland, is expected to see extensive renovations in the second quarter of 2010.
The ex-military hospital, located next Keflavik International Airport, will contain three operating theatres and around 35 hospital beds, all together having the potential to treat up to 4,000 patients per year.
The Icelandic development company Kadeco, in collaboration with Iceland Healthcare, will be over seeing the renovation and other aspects of the project. It is believed that up to 300 new jobs will be created by the redevelopment of the hospital and services related to it, for example, accommodating patients and their families with housing facilities.
The Asbru Enterprise Park has been referred to as an international centre for medical advancements, due to the Keilir School of Health and Education, located within the parks surroundings. The school attracts students and teachers from across the world.
