A Finnish modelling agency director, who was jailed for 12-and-a-half years on rape charges in December, is to face fresh accusations of sex crimes after 12 new alleged victims came forward. Eero Eronen, 48, is set to begin a new trial at Helsinki District Court in June.
Last year, Eornen was found guilty of a number of counts of aggravated human trafficking, rape, aggravated rape and attempted manslaughter, with more than 10 victims taking the stand. All the women came to the 48-year-old in the hope of starting a modelling career, with some attacks occurring as part of the interview process.
According to Helsingin Sanomat, Eronen’s girlfriend will be charged alongside him in the new case. She is thought to have participated in the sex crimes in some way.
The victims, who only contacted the police after the conclusion of the first trial, are all women from different parts of Finland.
