Icelandic singer Bjork has teamed up with David Attenborough for the making of a new music documentary.
The effort between the genre-bending music diva and the legendary British naturalist and broadcaster will be dubbed ‘Attenborough and Bjork: The Nature of Music’ and will take a fresh look at the evolution of music and its effects on humanity, as well as its relationship with technology and the natural world.
Officials from the upcoming production said to the Hollywood Reporter, “Born from Bjork’s revolutionary music project, we are thrilled to be able to document this incredible journey with her. She is undeniably one of the most iconic figures in popular culture and truly pushes boundaries like no other artist does.”
Bjork’s role in the feature will reportedly examine the relationship between music and people, whilst Attenborough will focus on its connections with animals, notably the blue whale.
The documentary will be aired on the BBC and is the latest effort in Bjork’s ongoing project ‘Biophilia’, in which the star examines the connection between technology, music and nature. Previous instalments of the project have seen a number of exhibitions as well as the launch of interactive applications for the iPad.
