This coming Saturday (25.08), the annual Jökulsárlón firework display in the glacier lagoon at the foot of Vatnajökull in Iceland, will be streamed live online via a Míla webcam.
The spectacular event takes place in the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon which stems off from Europe’s largest glacier, Vatnajökull. Fireworks are set alight on the icebergs and candles are distributed around the lagoon, making for an exciting visual display.
The event is expected to attract thousands of visitors, breaking the record for the number of people attending in previous years. The firework display is organised by the local search and rescue team, the Jökulsárlón tourist board and Vatnajökull National Park – the event is intended as a fund raiser for the local search and rescue team.
The event has been described as an amazing spectacle and unforgettable experience for visitors and online viewers.
