The man charged with shooting civilians from a rooftop in the Finnish town of Hyvinkää is fit to stand trial, authorities ruled on 8 January.
The 18-year-old male, who has confessed to sniping nearly a dozen young adults with a small bore rifle in May 2012, does not require hospital care, according to officials from the National Institute for Health and Welfare.
Two people lost their lives in the incident and several more sustained serious injuries, including a female police officer who remains under the care of a local hospital.
The shooter has been charged with two counts of murder, more than 30 counts of endangering the public and an additional seven counts of attempted murder. The court is expected to issue a verdict in February, according to a YLE report.
