Icelandic post-rock band Sigur Rós is set to appear in the upcoming fourth season of HBO’s fantasy series hit Game of Thrones which is scheduled to premiere in early 2014, according to a report by Entertainment Weekly.
Band members Jónsi, Georg Hólm and Orri Páll Dýrason are currently in Croatia for the shooting of the series, although nothing has leaked yet as to what music or role they might be playing. Screenwriters for the show David Benioff and Dan Weiss are reportedly notorious Sigur Rós fans, which would explain their choice to include the group to the cast.
Past seasons of Game of Thrones have featured soundtracks by popular bands such as The National and the Hold Steady, as well as receiving members of Snow Patrol and Coldplay for guest appearances.
Earlier this year, Sigur Rós were guests on The Simpsons‘ for the season finale.
