The winner of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, Denmark’s Emmelie de Forest, has postponed her upcoming tour of Denmark and Germany.
The singer was scheduled to perform in 14 cities, including Copenhagen, Horsens, Berlin and Dresden, starting in October, but announced on Facebook that the concerts would be put on hold. She has given no alternative dates as yet.
De Forest said she regrets that she has had to postpone her tour in Denmark and Germany as she was looking forward to performing for her fans. She explained that as she is a perfectionist and has give 100 per cent to everything she does, she has had to make this decision.
The Eurovision winner went on to explain that with such a hectic schedule at present, it is impossible for her to give it her all, adding that she hopes her fans understand and that she looks forward to performing in front of them as soon as possible.
Her fans’ reaction to the news has been somewhat mixed. Some have supported her decision and encouraged her to take a break from her schedule, while others have said they are disappointed and angry. One described the decision as unacceptable, saying she deserved no sympathy, while others complained that they had booked transport and accommodation in advance to attend one of the concerts.
