Several Swedish school students have been reported to police in connection with three incidents in the past month including poisoning their teachers’ coffee.
The incidents at the Vasteras College of Design and Construction all took place in October, one of which resulted in several teachers becoming sick after a student made and served them coffee. After consuming the coffee, two teachers were taken to hospital with throat complaints. Samples of the drink are currently being forensically analysed.
The two other incidents involved one student starting a fire inside the school building and another student removing a screw in a step on a staircase which caused a fellow student falling three metres.
School headmistress Eva Stormgaard said the students who have been reported are over 18 years old so should be mature enough to know better. She said just a small group was to blame for the pranks and described their behaviour as dangerous.
Ms Stormgaard explained they had to report the incidents to the police because were committing crimes, not simply misbehaving. She added that it became obvious they had to bring the police in as teachers are not allowed to act like police at a school.
