A driver lost control of his car at midnight last night and crashed into a lamp post.
Driving conditions were optimal in every way and the weather was still but the driver explained that he had been distracted by the show that aurora borealis put on at midnight and couldn’t take his eyes of the sky. The car was wrecked and towed to a repair shop but the driver was unharmed. Other than that it was a calm night for the Reykjavik police last night, despite a reportedly spectacular show in the night sky as the northern lights bid their good bye and step aside for spring.
