Fujitsu Services, a leading European IT services company, has signed a 10-year agreement with Reuters to provide IT services for Reuters’ 17,500 employees around the world. Reuters is the world’s largest news and information provider and operates in more than 100 countries around the world.
Fujitsu Services will substantially improve the IT experience for Reuters’ staff by means of a thorough transformation of the internal computer systems. Users will be able to access secure IT services from anywhere in the world as well as receive support from Fujitsu’s multi-lingual service desks in Lisbon and Kuala Lumpur. The new IT infrastructure will be hosted by Fujitsu who will also provide data centre services from facilities located around the world.
It is anticipated that Fujitsu’s innovative approach will offer Reuters significant productivity improvements as well as improving their competitive edge. As David Courtley, chief executive of Fujitsu Services commented, “For Fujitsu this is a ground-breaking deal with a world-class global business which will introduce a common IT approach across their entire worldwide operations. It will help enable a step-change in Reuters productivity and hence competitiveness.”
Reuters is the leading global financial data and news company providing information for professionals in the financial services, media and corporate markets. As part of the deal, the contract sees a number of Reuters staff transfer to Fujitsu from around the world.
