Asbru Enterprise Park in Iceland welcomes new silicon-metal facility

Asbru Enterprise Park welcomes the construction of the new silicon-metal facility that will be located next to the business park in southwest Iceland. The Icelandic Silicon Corporation recently signed a contract with the ministers of industry and finance and the mayor of Reykjanesbaer for the construction of the silicon-metal plant.

The factory, which has received a total investment of 110 million Euros, is expected to be operational by the second half of 2013 and will employ approximately a 100 man workforce made up of experts, technicians and general staff.

In preparation for the opening of the silicon-metal plant, the Icelandic Silicon Corporation has moved its offices to the Asbru Enterprise Park making it the latest addition to the already diverse, innovative family located at Asbru.

Asbru offers offices of varying size, ranging between 15-60 square metres with the option of divided or combined open spaces. Companies have access to fully equipped 40 square metre meeting rooms and two smaller meeting rooms as well as a 100 square metre kitchen facilities.

Amongst some of the companies located in Asbru offices are innovative and ancillary businesses such as engineering firms and agencies. This creates a great working environment where businesses can receive help from other services within the same walls.

Additionally, at Asbru there are many other projects in the pipeline, such as an international data centre and a medical tourism hospital.
