Prince Harry is apparently ready to propose to his girlfriend Cressida Bonas under the Northern Lights, according to a report in British magazine Heat. Harry, 29, has been with his 24-year-old partner since May last year, when they met through his cousin, Princess Eugenie.
Speculation has increased in recent months about the Prince’s plans to propose, and reports claim he has now made up his mind where and when to do it.
A source said Harry has been to Iceland to train for his trek to the South Pole next month and the country holds a special place in his heart. The source stated that “[Harry] wants to propose somewhere close to his heart and he wants to take Cressida to the famous Ice Hotel [editor’s note: there is no such hotel in Iceland] and then pop the question under the Northern Lights. He knows she’ll love this”
Despite the fact that the couple have been together for some time – they are rarely spotted together – with Cressida finding it difficult being in the public spotlight. It is believed Harry has been keen on proposing for a number of months, but didn’t want to push Cressida too quickly.
The source went on to say that Harry’s romances have always been front page news, but Cressida has found that difficult to cope with. The source explained the great advantage of going somewhere like Iceland is that they can be alone, adding that it will probably happen around Christmas or New Year.
Reports from the UK in September claimed the couple had talked to their respective parents about getting engaged.
