The Iceland Geothermal Conference (IGC 2016), has announced that it will be holding the third edition of the event at the Harpa Conference Centre in Reykjavík, between the 26th and 29th of April 2016. The event, hosted by the Iceland Geothermal Cluster, will be focusing on geothermal diversity usage, and the different methods of creating value out of the resource.
As with previous events, IGC 2016 will be offering three main streams of focus: operability, feasibility, and practicality. Topics set to be discussed at the geothermal energy conference will include: operation of geothermal power plant; best practices; various case studies; energy security; policy making; green field development; innovation; incentives; rules and regulations; sustainable resource management; and environmental issues related to geothermal energy.
Additionally, the President of Iceland, Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson, has been confirmed as the patron of IGC 2016. During the 2013 event, Grímsson captivated the audience with a passionate speech; the event’s organisers are proud to have the President’s confirmation as patron of IGC 2016.
This event will teach attendees how to maximize the utilization of geothermal energy from veterans, and explore ways to realize geothermal projects with less risk and higher profitability.
Uniquely, the Iceland Geothermal Conference offers field trips as part of its program to selected geothermal areas close to Reykjavík, in order for attendees to experience Iceland’s geothermal energy first hand.
