Since my return to Iceland my true ICENEWS message board identity has been uncovered whilst using another person’s laptop who just happens to have extensive connections to a political party currently in opposition. And to think, thought few people actually read what we post around here.
Find it fundamental to democracy to have the right to contribute comments/thoughts/reflections to the active discussion boards of ICENEWS regarding the economic crisis here and overseas. And yes, have upset a few given I’m not an Icelandic citizen who dares express thoughts – find it unjust that expression of speech is seen as an attack on an entire nation – state.
But hey, a lot of Icelanders over the many years here have been more than forthcoming expressing their views own political and social life in the United States; they have a right to do so. One Icelandic guy who owns a company heavily dependent on trade with my country told me the day the 9/11 attacks occurred the United States deserved to be attacked. I totally disagree with his view – but he is free to have it nonetheless.
As many of the active regulars here know, been active for some time on the message boards for a while. Alex and team have done an excellent job providing a platform for free speech. It’s been great to add a voice while living in Finland & USA.
